Quota move: Students to hold protests

Medical students in Delhi say protests would be held peacefully and clashes would be avoided.

Protesting the increase in OBC quota, over 1000 medical students in Delhi will launch a march from Maulana Azad Medical College to the Parliament Street.

According to students, they want to hold peaceful protests and avoid any clashes with the police like the ones witnessed last week.

Medical students, who have led the anti-quota campaign till now, will be joined by protestors from other universities across the capital in the march.

These include students from all medical colleges in Delhi, Delhi University, Indraprastha University, Amity University and the Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT).

Students from the IITs have decided to stay away from the formal protests, at least for now, and are instead organising an online petition against quotas. IIM students are not joining in the march either.
