The report will include feedback from office bearers on crucial issues like whether to continue with organisational elections or go for nomination at all levels and how to take the party forward in terms of strength, ideology and other aspects.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday asked party general secretaries to meet block and district level workers and prepare a report within two months. “Rahulji has asked general secretaries to meet workers at block and district levels and get their feedback on how to strengthen the organisation,” party general secretary Shakeel Ahmed said. “They have been given two months to prepare a report.”

The party also plans to come out with a compilation of the suggestions in a booklet form.

The dominant view in the party is that of an emphasised focus on revival of party organisation in states. In another decision, the Congress extended the deadline of its ongoing membership drive for two months from December 31 to February 28 next year.
