Raid in a suburban bar; 14 bar girls arrested

The Social Service Branch of the city police arrested 14 bar girls and three others early this morning in a raid conducted in a suburban bar, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the bar in suburban Borivali in the wee hours and arrested them, they said.

"Bar manager, cashier and one more person were arrested along with these 14 girls," R Joshi of the SSB said.

Also Rs 1.20 lakh was recovered from the bar, police said.

They were later handed over to the Kasturba Marg police station, police said adding further investigation is on in the matter.
