A Met department spokesman today forcast rains or thundershowers at many places in the state during the next 24 hours.

He said there would also be an increase in precipitation during subsequent four days.

Though there was slight drop in maximum temperature in Srinagar yesterday, it was still five notches above normal, he said.

The spokesman said the minimum in Srinagar was 19.8 degrees celsius which was again six notches above normal but few degrees less than yesterday because of rains.

He said there could be one or two spells of rain or thundershowers tomorrow.

Most parts of the Kashmir valley, including Srinagar, experienced rains today, bringing down the maximum temperature.
