Rains to continue in Goa for next 24 hrs

Indian Meteorogical Observatory on Tuesday predicted heavy rains in the state for the next 24 hours.

As incessant rains continued to lash coastal Goa, Indian Meteorogical Observatory on Tuesday predicted heavy rains in the state for the next 24 hours.

"Depression in the sea, that had formed in the east, has moved north westerward causing heavy spells which will continue for the next 24 hours," KV Singh, Director, MET department said.

Goa had registered 91.6 mm of rains during the last 24 hours taking the seasonal total to 1316.8 mm.

The district administration confirmed that despite heavy rains there were no instances of floods.

"We have not reported any flooding. But our machinery is already geared up to act in case of any eventuality", District Collector Nikhil Kumar said.
