He was accompanied by large number of supporters. The Ghaziabad administration had banned his entry from January 8 to midnight of January 9. The morcha spokesman Mukesh Singh said in Lucknow on Monday that Babbar was scheduled to reach Dadri on January 9 to demolish the construction at the site.

Singh said Babbar was accompanied by morcha leader Shakshi Maharaj, general secretary Vinod Singh, suspended SP MLA Brijendra Pratap Singh and other leaders.

Sharply reacting to the arrest the former Prime Minister VP Singh in a statement condemned the state government for violating democratic norms for peaceful demonstration. VP Singh said that district magistrate had informed him about the ban on entry.

However the ex-PM said such tactics would not deflect the Morcha from carrying on campaign against the state government. VP Singh said he would reach Sikandarabad on January 9 to address the farmers rally. Mukesh Singh said morcha would launch protest all over the state against Babbar’s arrest.
