Rally to support recital of Vande Mataram
BURKHA CLAD women and some kids took out a ?Vande Mataram Freedom March? under the banner of a non-governmental organisation, Vishal Bharat Sansthan, here on Wednesday. Noted Gandhian thinker and national president of Acharya Kul Sharad Kumar Sadhak and Dr Rajiv Dwivedi of History Department in Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth flagged off the march from Shastri Nagar Colony.
BURKHA CLAD women and some kids took out a ‘Vande Mataram Freedom March’ under the banner of a non-governmental organisation, Vishal Bharat Sansthan, here on Wednesday.
Noted Gandhian thinker and national president of Acharya Kul Sharad Kumar Sadhak and Dr Rajiv Dwivedi of History Department in Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth flagged off the march from Shastri Nagar Colony.
Besides women of the Muslim community, several minors engaged in rag-picking and intellectuals participated in the march raising slogans such as ‘Bharat Mein Liya Hain Janam, Gayenge Vande Mataram,’ ‘Aise Ho Hamare Karam, Gaye Hum Vande Mataram’ and ‘Vande Mataram Ka Karo Samman, Chahe Hindu Ho Ya Musalman.’
Earlier, historian Dr Rajiv Dwivedi termed Vande Mataram as a historical document in which the history of several martyrs was embodied. He said, “We consider the national song above religion as even Muslim leaders played a significant role in propagating and getting it recognised as the national song. It was Mohd Rahimtullah who first recited Vande Mataram at the Congress Convention held in Calcutta,” he claimed.
Noted Gandhian thinker Sharad Kumar Sadhak said, “Vande Mataram is a precious treasure of our country as it was voice of freedom fighters in the pre-Independence era.”
President of NGO Dr Rajiv Srivastava said that there were a number of freedom fighters, including Muslims, who laid their lives in the freedom struggle singing Vande Mataram.
