"Development of the nation and particularly that of the rural areas is our primary concern. NDA government has made amendments to Land Acquisition Bill for the welfare of the farmers. Now farm lands cannot be bought at nominal prices," minister for micro small and medium enterprises said at the sidelines of a programme here.

"The Bill has been brought in to build foundational infrastructure in rural areas for development of roads, electricity, water, irrigation facilities etc. The government will buy land from farmers for these development schemes at four times the market price," Mishra said.

Listing the achievements of the Modi-led government at the Centre in last one year, he said, inflation has been controlled for the welfare of the people.

The government also provided jobs to the unemployed through career fairs under Public-Private Partnership model in Hyderabad and Surat, he said, adding more such fairs would be organised throughout the country.
