Raza Murad for overseas marketing of Bhojpuri films
MAINTAINING THAT the perspective of Bhojpuri cinema had undergone an acute metamorphosis, celebrity Bollywood actor Raza Murad today called for overseas marketing of such films in the wake of Bhojpuri films being a hit in countries like USA and Holland. Earlier, there was lack of Bhojpuri actor and actress, but now stars are available. In the past, such movies were screened only in UP and Bihar but now, these films are being screened in states like Delhi, Punjab and West Bengal apart from foreign countries .

“Earlier, there was lack of Bhojpuri actor and actress, but now stars are available. In the past, such movies were screened only in UP and Bihar but now, these films are being screened in states like Delhi, Punjab and West Bengal apart from foreign countries,” he said adding that scope of such movies has not only limited to India, but it has expended to foreign countries too. ‘Ganga Jamuna’ and ‘Nadiya Ke Par’ were superhit films of Bhojpuri background, he added.
Talking to the Hindustan Times during the screening of Bhojpur film ‘Pyar Ke Bandhan’ here on Sunday as a part of his promotional tour along with actor of film, Manoj Tiwari and actress, Sadhika, Raza Murad said the Bhojpuri films have sensitivity in comparison to Hindi films. That is why its popularity was on the rise, he added.
He said the existence of Bhojpuri films was not only limited to Bhojpuri speaking area in India, but was also gaining popularity in southern part of US, besides, Netherland. The need of the hour was to go for overseas marketing of Bhojpuri cinema. Raza along with Mridual Tiwari and actress, Sadhika reached the Anand Mandir cinema hall where he addressed thousands of audience.
Expressing his anguish over Amir Khan issue, he demanded the proper rehabilitation of people, affected by the Sardar Sarovar dam in Gujarat, celebrity Raza Murad said the voice of a true man, struggling for the cause of humanity was being suppressed by some the people.
“India is a democratic country where each citizen has been granted constitutional rights to freedom of speech and expression. Amir Khan had simply raised his voice in support of families affected by the Sardar Sarovar dam. No personal reason is hidden behind the move,” he said.
He said, “In a democratic country like India, Amir Khan is being opposed for his demand in this connection. His film, ‘Fanna’ is banned in Gujarat. It is not fair.”
