Relatives, friends attend Ustad?s teeja

In an atmoshpere of sadness, Teeja of the departed shehnai maestro Bismillah Khan, was performed at his house at Harha Saria here on Thursday. Relatives and well-wishers paid tributes to the departed soul by attending religious rituals of Quarnkhani, Mazlis and Navakhani ever since morning.

Relatives and well-wishers paid tributes to the departed soul by attending religious rituals of Quarnkhani, Mazlis and Navakhani ever since morning.

The religious head of Shia community in the city Mufti Maulana Ahmad Hasan recited the Majlis.

In his message, Ahmad Hasan highlighting the specialilty of the word Bismillah said, “ When, somebody does any thing wrong he never utters this word. When something, pious and good is done, the word, Bismillah is uttered.”

The ritual of Qurankhani began at 7.30 am amid presence of bereaved family members. This was followed by Majlis at 10.00 am.

In the afternoon, Naiyyer Hussain, the second eldest son of departed Khan Saheb, performed the ritual of Navakhani. The Majlis of women was held at 4 pm in the evening.

Thousands of people and music lovers visited to the house of Khan Saheb ever since morning to pay tributes.

Meanwhile, a condolence meeting was organised by the city's academicians and other intellecutuals at the Maitri Bhawan in Bhelupur in the evening.

The participants paid rich tributes to the departed shehnai maestro and highlighted his personality and simplicity.
