"There is an urgent need for a traffic signal at the intersection cause it has become extremely dangerous for commuters and pedestrians, both," said Narender Chillar, former president of the Sector 30 Resident Welfare Association (RWA).
"Keeping in mind the volume of traffic here, the road also needs to be made one-way as accidents and traffic jams are common here. Recently, the road had been widened a little but it is not enough. Erratic drivers of cabs and shared autos make the situation worse," said Rakesh Rath, a Sector 40 RWA member.
We met the traffic police officials on Tuesday to submit a memorandum, along with a map of the area.
The city traffic police said that they would forward the demand to the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) so that a traffic signal can be installed soon.
