Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sridhar Mandal said the group stormed into the house of Jagdish Rajak in the wee hours and slit his throat.

The incident came to light after the 70 year-old former railway employee's son Ramdev Rajak came to the residence of his father who used to live alone in the house.

Referring to the suspicion about Naxalite involvement, he said the modus operandi suggested it could be the handwork of the ultras.
