Rohit & Rahul arrive right on Cue
A truly rocking collection from designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. The line was fun, sexy, oozing with attitude but at the same time conservative in its appeal.
There were no plunging necklines, very few bare midriffs and only the occasional backless number to delight voyeurs in the audience. Great cuts mixed with fabulous fabrics and gorgeous colour combinations made this the ideal club wear for the young at heart.
Colours ranged from orange and blue, chocolate browns and taupe, blacks and greens and purples and psychedelic blues and pinks mixed together. Styles were as diverse as the fabrics and colours used. Knee length jackets with faux fur trim worn with candy coloured short skirts and contrasting thigh-highs. Modern day jodhpurs in satin worn with cropped jackets--very central London--ideal for a trendy club. Poncho dresses with intricate sequin work--for a glamourous dinner. Easy 60s inspired sack dresses in basic browns--for a poolside lunch date. Sexy tank tops, asymmetrical skirts and plastic hoops and chunky bracelets in to-die-for colours.Glitzy glam for nights in black mesh skin hugging blouses with shimmery purple and green work worn with cigarette pants. Impish corsets worn with flirty frilly skirts and mile high heels and loads of thin black bangles.
While the last segment devoted to space-age bluish pink jackets and pants may have been a little too 'Beam-me up Scottie' kinds for some, Rohit and Rahul did manage to come up with a collection that was smart and sexy, even when keeping all the interesting bits under wraps.
