According to reports received her,e Rohtang Pass experienced 2-ft snow, while Marhi, a halting point between Kothi and Rohtang Pass, recorded 1.5-ft snow on Thursday.

The lower areas, including tourist town of Manali, Naggar, Kanyal hill and other parts of upper Kullu Valley, were lashed by continuous rains.

This led to a considerable decline in temperatures. However, there was no report any light and heavy vehicles stuck at Rohtang Pass in the wake of fresh snowfall.

Local hoteliers and tourist traders feel that fresh snowfall at Rohtang Pass and Marhi would certainly boost the inflow of foreigners and domestic visitors to Manali.

Besides, snowfall on higher reaches and rain in lower areas are being considered of great advantage for fruit orchards in Manali region of the valley.
