Rs 3.91-cr surplus BDA budget approved

A Rs 3.91crore surplus budget of the Bhopal Development Authority (BDA) for 2006-07 was approved today. Some new schemes and a large number of incomplete or pending projects of past years were included in the budget. Besides construction of business tower in MP Nagar, the BDA has proposed the construction of six sub-ways in different parts of the City.

A Rs 3.91crore surplus budget of the Bhopal Development Authority (BDA) for 2006-07 was approved today. Some new schemes and a large number of incomplete or pending projects of past years were included in the budget. Besides construction of business tower in MP Nagar, the BDA has proposed the construction of six sub-ways in different parts of the City.

In the meeting chaired by BDA chairman Dhruvnarayan Singh, BDA Board of Directors today approved the budget proposals worth Rs 45.37 crore against the proposed earnings of Rs 49.28 crore. Hence the Rs 3.91-crore surplus budget.

The budget proposals include the construction of six sub-ways according to master plan, development of logistic hub of transport nagar at Bhairopur, IT sector hub with private participation, development of phase-II and phase-III of Vidya Nagar, development of phase-I, phase-II and phase-III of Misrod satellite town, business tower at MP Nagar, development of
second phase of Wajdi-ul-Husaini, Kushabhau Thakre Housing Scheme on the land in front of Kolar Guest House.

The BDA’s budget proposals also include Kushabhau Swarojgar Yojna for the physically challenged unemployed youths, ex-service men, senior citizens and weaker sections. Other announcements include the slum upgradation in six slums, construction of office building on Link Road number-3, commercial complex in front of old Vidhan Sabha building, infrastructure development in MP Nagar’s zone-I and development of playgrounds.

The BDA emphasised on the land pooling system for its various housing schemes. It was informed that the BDA has initiated several schemes with the private public participation. This year, the BDA has also made allocation of Rs five lakh for the development of playgrounds.

The BDA claimed that it has sold Rs 10 crore unsold properties by making a work plan. Besides, the BDA has also repaid the parts osf loan to Andhra Bank, Housing and Urban Development Authority (HUDCO).
