Rs 3 crore fund for Simhastha

The State Government has created an emergency corpus of Rs. three crore for emergency use during the Simhastha in Ujjain from April 5. Government sources said here today that an empowered committee headed by Simhastha works Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya would be able to spend the fund in case of exigencies without anyone?s approval.

The State Government has created an emergency corpus of Rs. three crore for emergency use during the Simhastha in Ujjain from April 5.

Government sources said here today that an empowered committee headed by Simhastha works Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya would be able to spend the fund in case of exigencies without anyone’s approval.

The committee also has Finance Minister Raghav Ji Bhai as member. The other committee members are Principal Secretary, Urban Administration and Secretary, Finance. Ujjain Commissioner is the committee’s member secretary.

Ujjain Commissioner would be able to nominate officials to sign the cheques for expenditure from the fund. The fund would remain in existence throughout the Simhastha period from April 5 to May 4.
