'Rs 5 lakh for Modasa blast victims'

The Gujarat government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for relatives of those killed in the blast which rocked Modasa town in Sabarkantha district on Monday night.

The Gujarat government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for relatives of those killed in the blast which rocked Modasa town in Sabarkantha district on Monday night.

According to sources in the chief minister's office, the entire cost of treatment of those injured in the blast that took place in Suka Bazar area of Modasa town will be borne by the government.

A 15-year-old boy was killed and 10 others were injured in the low-intensity blast in a densely-populated area, ahead of the Navratri festival that begins today and Ramzan Id on Thursday.

Minister of State for Home Amit Shah and Education Minister Raman Vora visited the blast site and met the victims in the hospital last night.
