Rs 65 lakh missing from ATM, 4 detained

Four employees of a cash collection and dispensing agency were detained for questioning and investigations after cash worth Rs 65 lakh disappeared from two ATM machines of Punjab National Bank (PNB) at Modi Nagar in Ghaziabad on Sunday, police said.

The ATM centre in question has two cash dispensing machines, which were believed to be loaded with Rs 54 lakh and Rs 22 lakh respectively by the employees of Writers Safeguard Company, senior superintendent of police Raghubir Lal said.

“While Rs 54 lakh went missing from the first ATM, Rs 11 lakh from the other,” he said.
