Ruckus at CMPDC over copying
A STUDENT of the CMP Degree College created a ruckus along with his 'cohorts' after being caught cheating by the members of the Flying Squad on Wednesday.
After the exam the student and his associates assaulted a student and also a guard who tried to stop a student attempting to enter the confidential room where the collected answersheets are stored. College authorities have lodged an FIR against the culprits.
Trouble started when Allahabad University (AU) flying squad caught Ashish Kumar Dwivedi, a student of BA part I, using unfair means during the Ancient History paper-II examination in room number 9 of the Chaudhary Mahadev Prasad (CMP) Degree College. Dwivedi is the brother of a former president of CMP Degree College student union Sunil Kumar Dwivedi.
According to CMP Degree College Proctor, Dr Satyamvada Singh, after the conclusion of exams, Ashish and his associates assaulted Ashok Saroj, a student who was sitting behind Ashish during the exam near the Bairahna Gate. Saroj was reportedly being pressurised by Ashish and his cohorts to own up cheating in the exam to save Ashish but he refused.
An injured Saroj later arrived in the college and informed about the incident. He also told the college authorities that the assailants had also snatched his identity card and admit card and threatened not to allow him to appear in the exams.
CMP authorities took prompt action and lodged a named FIR against Sunil Kumar Dwivedi, Ashish Kumar Dwivedi and some unidentified persons at the George Town police station in this regard.
Meanwhile, Abhishek, another student of CMP Degree College attempted to enter the confidential room and tried to get information about the location of the copies seized from students for using unfair means. When an on-duty guard tried to stop him, Abhishek reportedly assaulted him and fled from the scene hurling abuses and threats.
A second FIR was lodged at the George Town police station by the CMP authorities in connection with this incident.
Meanwhile, some students charged the college authorities of harassing a colleague which led to a guard beating him up. The students too lodged an FIR against the guard at the George Town police station.
According to the student leader Abhishek Shukla, Abhishek Vats had gone to meet the Proctor at her office but the guard assaulted him in the absence of the Proctor.
