Talk of irony. In an industry where good looks are everything, Ruslaan Mumtaz got rejected for Slumdog Millionaire for being too good looking for the role.

Yes, you read it right. Ruslaan auditioned for the role four times. In fact, in the second audition, director Danny Boyle even gave him the script and a narration. But then, the producer of the film felt that Ruslaan is too good looking to play the slumdog.
Ruslaan was, obviously, disappointed that he couldn't bag the role with an Oscar winning director and it must have disappointed him moreso now that the film has bagged so many awards.
But, Ruslaan also has something that he can be proud of. After losing out on the film, when Ruslaan wanted to return the script to Danny, the director let him keep it as a memento and said, "It's your consolation prize from me."
Ruslaan is very proud to have a bound script from Danny Boyle himself, without even doing the film, a fact no one else can boast of.
