SA may move to first spot in ICC rankings

India face the threat of dropping to sixth position in LG ICC ODI ranking while South Africa sniff a chance to topple Australia at top.

India, now fifth with 107 points, may slide one place if they lose the remaining two ODIs of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka.

South Africa have a chance to pull Australia down from the top spot if they beat Pakistan in the fifth and final ODI in Johannesburg on Wednesday and New Zealand post a series win over Australia in the three-match Chappell-Hadlee series which starts in Wellington on Friday.

The Proteas are placed second with 127 points while world champions Australia are leading the table with 130 points.

ODI Ranking (after the tri-series in Australia):

1 Australia - 130 points

2 South Africa - 127 points

3 Pakistan - 112 points

4 Sri Lanka - 110 points

5 India - 107 points

6 New Zealand - 107 points

7 England - 106 points

8 West Indies - 101 points.
