South Africa have a chance to pull Australia down from the top spot if they beat Pakistan in the fifth and final ODI in Johannesburg on Wednesday and New Zealand post a series win over Australia in the three-match Chappell-Hadlee series which starts in Wellington on Friday.
The Proteas are placed second with 127 points while world champions Australia are leading the table with 130 points.
