BJP has demanded the immediate sacking of Uttar Pradesh Haj Minister Yaqoob Quereshi for his statement to behead the Danish cartoonist, who had sketched Prophet Mohammed.

The Minister should be sacked immediately for such a statement as no one has the power to take anyone's life," BJP President Rajnath Singh said.

"Let any one be a follower of any belief or religion. There should not be any attempt to hurt their belief or their sentiments," he said.

"I also oppose the person who had made the cartoon on Prophet Mohammad. We cannot give recognition to any such act, he added.

He also asked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav to clarify his stand on the issue of the statement of his Haj Minister.
