Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Abhimanyu Lal Shrivastava accepted the police prayer and issued property attachment order against Yadav, brother-in-law of RJD president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, under section 83 of the CRPC (attachment of property of person absconding).

The ACJM turned down an application by Yadav against the police's prayer for property attachment on the ground that he would file a petition in Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail in the case after the Patna High Court rejected his petition on Monday and issued property attachment order.

The police, which had gone to Delhi in August with the proclamation notice against the MP in the case for assaulting a candidate for local body election in Gopalgunj, had prayed before the Gopalganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Nand Prasad Shrivastava on June 30 for property attachment order against him.

Sadhu, Lok Sabha member from Gopalganj, had allegedly assaulted a candidate for Phulwaria block development committee chairman Dinesh Sah on June 29 after he refused to obey his diktat to withdraw from fray in favour of the Railway Minister's sister-in-law (wife of his elder brother Gulab Rai), Kunti Devi.

On July 4, a Gopalganj court had issued non-bailable warrant of arrest against Sadhu Yadav in the case.
