Sadhvi?s supporters arriving in Delhi
A LARGE number of Uma Bharti supporters have left the city for Delhi to participate in the Bharti?s Janadesh Rally at Ramlila Grounds there in which the Sadhvi is expected to announce the formation of a new party. Tomorrow?s rally is part of Bharti?s on-going Janadesh Yatra, which she embarked upon after her expulsion from the BJP.
A LARGE number of Uma Bharti supporters have left the city for Delhi to participate in the Bharti’s Janadesh Rally at Ramlila Grounds there in which the Sadhvi is expected to announce the formation of a new party. Tomorrow’s rally is part of Bharti’s on-going Janadesh Yatra, which she embarked upon after her expulsion from the BJP.
One of the few known Uma Bharti supporters in the city Inder Prajapat, who has been camping in Delhi in connection with the rally, said that around 5000 people are expected to reach Delhi from Indore district. A large number of Uma’s supporters left by Indore-Nizamuddin Express today and several others are arriving by road, he said.
Prajapat claimed that several local BJP leaders from the city with their supporters have left for Delhi. Though initially there were only a few leaders who dared to switch over to Uma Bharti openly, the number has swelled considerably after Bharti’s huge Janadesh Rally in Indore on March 3. Besides several local leaders are waiting to switch over to Uma Bharti’s new party, as there is growing feeling of frustration in the BJP, he said.
Prajapat, who resigned from the Congress party to join the firebrand former BJP leader, said on phone from Delhi that there was great enthusiasm among the people to join Uma’s Janadesh Rally at Ramlila Grounds in Delhi tomorrow. People from every nook and corner of Indore district are heading towards Delhi to participate in the rally, which is considered a show of strength by the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister right under the nose of BJP big-wigs, Prajapat said.
Apart from Prajapat, prominent leaders of the city who are participating in the rally tomorrow included former BJP corporators Parmanand Sisodia and Manoj Shindwe, Munna Tekedar and Kishor Meena.
The rally is significant in the sense that the maverick leader is expected to announce a new party. Earlier, Bharti was to announce the formation of a new party on April 30 at Chitrakoot to coincide with the conclusion of her 90-day long Janadesh Yatra.
But, later she decided to prepone the announcement of the new party in the wake of the political developments in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal where elections could be held at any time. The decision to prepone the announcement of new party was also propelled by the announcement of the Assembly elections in some states in the country in April.
Former BJP strongman from Delhi Madanlal Khurana is also expected to participate in the rally.
