Earlier Salem was in judicial custody in the same case.

Producing Salem before the court amidst high security, CBI pleaded that it needed his police custody to interrogate him in the light of revelations made by co-accused Riyaz Siddiqui.

Siddiqui was arrested on Wednesday in the same case and CBI alleged that he was instrumental in supplying arms and ammunitions to the co-accused, including Sanjay Dutt, at the instructions of Salem.
