Sampark Kranti derails near Patna

Although some passengers were injured, no casualty was reported in the derailment of ten bogies of Delhi-bound train between Barahia and Rampur.

Ten bogies of Guwahati-Delhi Sampark Kranti Express derailed near Mokama Railway station in Patna district on Sunday morning, injuring some passengers.

The bogies jumped off the track between Barahia and Rampur Dumra stations, an East Central Railway spokesman told a news agency.

"There are no reports of any deaths but some passengers might have suffered minor injuries," he said.

ECR General Manager KC Jena and other top Railway officials have rushed to the scene.
