He was speaking at the inaugural function of a two-day workshop on ‘Popular Science Writing and Definition Terminology’ at the Vigyan Parishad auditorium.
Dr Tiwari said the Vigyan Parishad and the Scientific and Technical Terminology Commission was playing a vital role in this regard.

Speaking on the occasion, scientific officer of the Commission Dr RK Mishra said the Commission has done commendable work in the field of original technical writing. As many as 14,000 books in Hindi and other Indian languages had been written, out of which more than 4,000 had been composed in Hindi, Dr Mishra added.

He further said the Commission was organising such workshops at various places to provide the much-needed thrust to science writing in the country.

Presiding over the function, noted educationist Dr DK Rai said a misconception arises when people do not know proper usage of definition terminology and this problem should be addressed.

Earlier, Vigyan Parishad pradhanmantri Dr Shiv Gopal Mishra extended a warm welcome to the guests. Prof Ishwar Chandra Shukla proposed the vote of thanks.
