Talk veered to opportunities amid a scenario of low economic growth worldwide.

New markets closer home to India are seen as hot. While India is perfectly well-placed to tap the market, China is pitching cities close to Japan in Northern China, to pitch for Japan’s outsourcing market, which is on the verge of opening up, said Egidio Zarrella, global partner-in-charge, IT at consulting firm KPMG.

“India is a focus area for us when it comes to future Internet and networking technologies,” John Chambers, CEO, Cisco, told the summit. Cisco this week firmed up a plan to set up a laboratory at the TCS campus in Chennai.
