SCR cancels 17 trains in wake of floods in AP

In wake of submerged railway lines in Kurnool and Mahabubnagar districts due to unprecedented floods in Krishna River, South Central Railway (SCR) cancelled 17 long-distance and nine passenger trains besides diverting 29 others for Tuesday.

In wake of submerged railway lines in Kurnool and Mahabubnagar districts due to unprecedented floods in Krishna River, South Central Railway (SCR) cancelled 17 long-distance and nine passenger trains besides diverting 29 others for Tuesday.

The SCR on Monday also cancelled 18 trains and diverted others, a SCR release said.

The railway lines were submerged due to overflowing on bridges between Guntakal and Wadi of Guntakal division, Alambpur and Kurnool town and between Panyam and Nandyal of Guntur division.

The trains cancelled today include Vijayawada-Hubli express, Bangalore-Bhubneswar express and Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Garibrath express.

Fourteen express trains cancelled for tomorrow are Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Garibrath express, Kacheguda-Bangalore express, Bangalore-Kacheguda express, Hyderabad-Tirupati, Tirupati-Hyderabad, Kacheguda-Yeswanthapur express, Yaswathapur-Kacheguda express, Tirupti-Kolhapur express, Kolhapur-Tirupati, Bangalore-Nanded link express, Nanded-Bangalore, Yeswanthapur-Bangalore-Yeswanthapur and Vijayawada-Yeswanthapur passenger, it said.
