The team, which is in Multan to play the fourth one-day international against Pakistan on Thursday, has been advised not to venture out of the hotel unescorted.
Indian Team Manager Raj Singh Dungarpur said the caution had been sounded by the Indian High Commission.
"The High Commission called up to say that if at all the team members venture out, they should not go alone," he said.
With protests lined-up for Thursday as well, stringent security measures have been taken for the day-night encounter.
