Security check triggers panic at Cantt Rly station
COMMOTION GRIPPED the Varanasi Cantonment station on Sunday evening when security personnel in large numbers along with sniffer dogs checked each and every corner of the station including trains, luggage and suspected persons on the basis of an intelligence input.It is said that the police got a tip off about some suspected person being present in the train or station but neither any suspected person or any objectionable object was found.

It is said that the police got a tip off about some suspected person being present in the train or station but neither any suspected person or any objectionable object was found.
The station had virtually turned into a police barrack when four DSPs, a dozen of station officers and jawans of police in large number reached the station at around 7.30 pm to carry out a check.
Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel also joined the district police.
Soon, cops in different groups headed by DSPs and station officers started checking the waiting hall, platforms and trains with help of sniffer dogs of PAC from Ramnagar Battalion. Bomb disposal squad was also accompanying the jawans in their operation.
The cops checked the Doon Express on platform number 6 and Mumbai-Varanasi bound Ratnagiri Express on platform number 9. In another incident, commotion also gripped the Mirzamurad area when some villagers spotted an unclaimed suitcase lying on the roadside in Khalispur village. Rumours about a bomb being hidden in the suitcase spread in the area on Sunday.
On getting information, cops reached the spot and checked the suitcase but fond some new clothes inside it.
