Seers murder case adjourned to October 9

After recording presence of the other 18 accused and views expressed by the defence, the case was adjourned.

Pondicherry Principal District and Sessions Judge M Chinna Pandi on Monday adjourned to October 9, hearing in the Sankararaman murder case in which Kanchi Acharyas Jayendra Saraswathi and Vijayendra Saraswathi were cited as the prime accused.

When the case came up for hearing, defence counsels filed petitions seeking to dispense with the appearance of both the Acharyas and four other accused.

The defence also informed about the stay granted by the Supreme court in conducting the trial on a petition filed by the Acharyas on the appearance of Tamil Nadu Special Public Prosecutor in the case.

After recording the presence of the other 18 accused and the views expressed by the defence, the Judge adjourned the case to October 9.
