Self-styled godman booked for rape

The local police on Sunday lodged an FIR against the head of Dera Premdas and two others at Jhoradnali village here, for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman.
In her complaint to the police, the victim said she had gone to Baba Premdas, head of the dera, to get herself treated for fever on September 9.
She alleged that Premdas had given her some medicines after which he raped her. She said the accused had threatened to kill her if she narrated the incident to anyone.
She alleged that two other people had helped Premdas in committing the crime.
The victim's parents were silent for the past few days, but on Sunday they came to the police station and filed a complaint against the accused.
Dalbeer Singh, sub inspector, sadar police station, said an FIR had been lodged against Premdas, Raju and one another under sections 376/511, 354 A, 120 B and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Singh said they had raided the crime spot and some other places but the accused remained untraceable. The hunt was on to nab them, he added.
