Seminar at UPRTOU tomorrow

THE UTTAR Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) will host a national seminar on ‘New Era of Development, Human Values and Media’ at the UPRTOU administrative building on March 30.

Vice-Chancellor of Makhan Lal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism Prof Achyutanand Mishra will be the chief guest while UPRTOU vice-chancellor Prof KNS Yadav will be the president of the seminar.

Addressing mediapersonshere, senior consultant at the UPRTOU Journalism and Mass Communication Prof Arjun Tiwari said that the seminar had been organised to discuss the role and importance of media in the transitional phase of the society.He said that human values had taken a nosedive with the revolutions in the field of agriculture, industry, digital technology, information and liberalisation. A seminar has been organised to evaluate and review the importance of the media in the prevailing situation of confusion and chaos in the society.

The seminar will begin at 10:30 am with inauguration by the chief guest and the mid-session from 12 noon to 2 pm will consist of discussions on technology, technical development and media, human values, broadcasting and cultural journalism. Prof Ram Mohan Pathak, Prof Anjani Kumar Banerjee, Prof Raj Krishna Mishra and several journalists will submit their research papers on the occasion.The concluding ceremony will be held at 4:30 pm with discussions on new standards of journalism and changing character of media.
