Send Sarabjit to India, say Pakistanis

While Indians offered prayers for Sarabjit, whose condition remains critical, Pakistanis stepping out of the Samjhauta Express on Monday at the Attari Railway Station also criticised the attack strongly and stressed that Sarabjit should be sent back to India.

Young Mohammad Asim, a resident of Multan in Pakistan, has come to India to meet his relatives.

He said, “The attack is very unfortunate and should never have happened. We have great sympathy for Sarabjit and I feel that he must be sent home after treatment.”

Similarly, Mohammad Qasim, who came from Karachi, said, “Even though Sarabjit is a prisoner, nobody has a right to attack him like this.”

Another passenger, Amir, said, “There are forces that do not want our nations to have good relations.”

Karachi’s Rasheeda and Alima Begum said, “Sarabjit is struggling for life and we all must pray for him.”

Security of Indo-Pak bus beefed up
Amritsar: Following fresh threats, the security of the buses plying between the two nations was increased on Monday.

As soon as the Lahore-Delhi bus entered India, the police was put on high alert. Heavy deployment was also seen at India Gate on Attari-Amritsar road.

Amritsar police commissioner Ram Singh told HT, “Whenever there is information that some outfit can disrupt the movement of the bus, we increase the security for the safety of passengers.” HTC
