Sensex down 57 pts in early trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark, Sensex, on Wednesday failed to hold initial gains in the opening session and fell by over 57 points on profit-booking by funds and retail investors.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex), which gained about 32 points at the outset, slid down by 57.89 points at 13,098.77 in the first five minutes of trading. It had fell by over 30 points on Tuesday.
Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty fell by 17.45 points at 3,784.00 after rising to 3798.00.
The major weak spots were heavyweights Reliance Industries, Bajaj Auto, Grasim Industries, Hero Honda, Maruti Udyog, Larsen and Toubro, Dr Reddy's, Reliance Communications, Reliance Energy, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel and ITC Ltd.
