Col. (retd.) Raj Singla, president of the Chamber of Industries of Udyog Vihar, said that the peripheral road closed by DGSCL had been in place for decades. It was deliberately shut to stop Delhi-bound motorists from using it in absence of a toll plaza.

The associations held a demonstration on Wednesday, shouted slogans and also clashed with employees of Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Limited (DGSCL), the concessionaire company, at the site. About 100 members from various associations gathered at the spot on the Gurgaon expressway just of ahead of the 32-lane toll plaza where a peripheral road coming from Udyog Vihar was blocked with a large mound of earth along with earthmover machines and trucks by DGSCL on Tuesday evening in anticipation of the protest. Chamber of Industries of Udyog Vihar, Udyog Vihar Industrial Association and various RWAs under the banner of Joint Action Forum of RWAs (Jafra) participated in the demonstration.

However, no police personnel were present at the spot that also witnessed some stone pelting between RWA members and private traffic marshals.
