Seven can bombs recovered in Jharkhand

Security personnel today recovered seven can bombs from different parts of Jharkhand during raids in Maoist-hit areas.

Security personnel on Sunday recovered seven can bombs from different parts of Jharkhand during raids in Maoist-hit areas.

Acting on a tip-off, the district police and para-military troops conducted raids in Naxal-hit areas and recovered five improvised explosive devices from Mankeri in Latehar police station in Latehar district, Superintendent of Police Kuldip Dwidi said.

He said all the explosives, weighing 5 kgs and planted on a road, were defused.

In another incident, security personnel recovered two can-bombs planted on Sarjamdih-Barigala Road in Ranchi district.

The can-bombs weighing 30 kg each were planted under a 'kucha' road in Bundu, Senior Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar Singh said.

The bombs have been defused.
