The bodies of the three, including a sister and a brother and a seven-year-old girl, were found late Tuesday in a pond in Phu Thinh commune in Dong Nai province, a local policeman said.
The children had gone to collect morning glory, a popular vegetable in Vietnam.
In the other incident, four children, including three siblings, drowned when they were playing in Ngan Pho river in Son Thinh commune of Ha Tinh province on Monday.
A strong current swept the children, aged between seven and 15, away from the low water area. All four drowned because they were unable to swim, local police said.
The death toll from accidental drownings has risen over the past couple of months hand-in-hand with rising summer temperatures.
Many Vietnamese are unable to swim even though the country has more than 3,200 kilometres of coastline.
