Seven injured in police jeep-bus collision in WB

Seven people, including four policemen were injured when a police jeep collided head on against a public bus in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal today.

Seven people, including four policemen were injured when a police jeep collided head on against a public bus in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Tuesday.

Police said that three - a policeman and two bus passengers were injured seriously in the accident at Bhojerhat.

The bus was on way from district headquarter Alipore in Kolkata to Basanti when the collision took place. The jeep belonged to Kashipur police station of the district, the police said.

The injured have been rushed to Chittaranjan National Medical College in the city.

In another road mishap in the district a person was killed in a truck-motorbike collision near Kaanthalia.

Three bike riders were injured in the collision and one of them died later, the police said.

Search is on for the truck, which fled the scene after the accident, the police added.
