Seven killed in MP road mishap

Seven persons have been killed and four others seriously injured when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a truck amid heavy fog.

Seven persons, including four women, were killed and four others seriously injured when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a truck amid heavy fog near Devri town in the district on Saturday.

Police said the victims were on a religious tour when the mishap occurred on Jabalpur-Jaipur National Highway. The visibility was poor due to dense fog in the area, they said.

The deceased were identified as Puranlal Kirar, Sunderbai Kirar, Dhannalal Sharma, Hemant Kirar, Shamibai, Leelabai and Diptibai, police said.

The injured have been admitted to Jabalpur Medical College Hospital.
