Seven persons, including two Army personnel, have been injured in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.
"Five civilians and two soldiers, including an officer, were injured when terrorists opened fire on a security forces' patrol party at Surigam village in Lolab area last evening," official sources said on Thursday.
All the injured have been given medical treatment and are now out of danger, a defence spokesman said.
The ultras took shelter in a nearby house, hurled grenades and engaged the security forces in heavy exchange of fire in which the injuries occurred, he said.
