Shajapur situation under control, BJP city chief booked

A day after timely response by police averted tension in Shajapur town, police registered case against BJP city president Kiran Thakur under Section 295(A) for attempting to disturb communal harmony.

A day after timely response by police averted tension in Shajapur town, police on Wednesday registered case against BJP city president Kiran Thakur for attempting to disturb communal harmony in the area. Police booked Thakur under Section 295(A) (intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs).

Apart, police also booked nine persons for pelting stones on policemen and vandalising vehicles parked outside shops and houses. Police arrested all those under relevant sections.

As soon as news of police case reached Thakur, he immediately absconded from town. On Wednesday, heavy police force was deployed in the town. Police team conducted flag march at Nai Sadak, Azad Chowk, Killa Road and other parts of town.
