Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar is still trying to recuperate from the drubbing he received from Sachin Tendulkar in the World Cup match nearly three months ago.
Speaking before the start of Pakistan's one-day match against New Zealand here today, Shoaib said that he had a bad match against the Indians in the March 1 World Cup clash in Centurion Park in South Africa. "I am trying to recuperate," he acknowledged.
Tendulkar hammered 18 runs from Shoaib's first over including a stunning six over the point region. The Pakistani, who had to be pulled out of attack after just one over, could never recover from the assault and was taken for 72 runs from his 10 overs.
Asked why he was not bowling at his fastest now, Shoaib said he had done 100 miles per hour before and was concentrating more on line and length. He was satisfied with his performance here but felt that he should have got more wickets.
