RAJASTHAN CHIEF Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia will inaugurate a national meet organised for the representatives of the Akhil Bharatiya Prajapati Samaj in Rajasthan on February 1. Samaj spokesman Mahesh Kashyap said that discussions on economic, social, educational and political aspects of the community would be held at the programme.
A newly constructed Dharmashala would also be inaugurated on the occasion. Samaj national president Ramsumran Kashyap, Babulal Patel, Shrinath Prajapati, Harilal Kashyap and many others would also participate in the meet.
“THE JAIN community should work for uplift of the needy and backward section of the society,” said State Forest and Transportation Minister Himmat Kothari at a swearing in ceremony organised by Akhil Bharatiya Shri Shwetamber Jain Mahila Sangh Indore unit recently. Mayor Dr Uma Shashi Sharma was special invitee at the programme.
MLA Usha Thakur also addressed the programme. Sangh founder president Rekha Jain gave information about the Sangh. Newly-appointed president Kusum Dungarwal gave information about the activities of the Sangh. Sangh former president Sohandevi Gang read out report of the work done during her term.
Makan Sankranti programme
LOK SANSKRITI Manch will organise a programme to mark Makar Sankranti at Khalsa College at 9 am on January 15. Many competitions like kite flying and cookery and traditional games like ‘sitoliya’ and ‘gilli-danda’ would also be organised on the occasion. Competitions for male and female participants would be organised separately.
SATYANAND YOGA Kendra will organise a three-day workshop on ‘benefits of Yoga during pregnancy’ at Shri Shri Ma Anandmayee Peeth, A B Road, under the guidance of Dr Swami Nirmalanand Saraswati from 5 pm to 7 pm on January 16. Information about the treatment of problems persisting during pregnancy through Yoga would be given at the programme. Dr Nirmalanand would also deliver a lecture on Yoga therapy.
BHARAT VIKAS Parishad organised a programme to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand recently. Parishad City president Rajkumar Sabu and secretary Vijay Chandak inaugurated the programme by garlanding the statue of Swami Vivekanand. Sweets were also distributed at the programme. Programme convener Rakesh Tongya said that youth should pledge to work for social welfare.
RAMPAL SONI was elected as president of Akhil Bharatiya Maheshwari Sabha at elections held in Aurangabad recently. Others elected on the occasion were Ramgopal Mundra (vice-president), Kasturchand Baheti (general secretary), Ramkumar Marda (association secretary), Ashok Kumar Daga (joint secretary) and Damodar Mundra (treasurer). Around 2,000 community members participated in the elections. Maheshwari Samaj (Indore) and Madhya Pradesh Pashcimanchal Maheshwari Mahasabha have congratulated the newly elected office-bearers.
