FOUR ARMED miscreants barged into house of a Bedia family and robbed three women of their gold and silver ornaments in Sadakpura under Kotwali police station in Morena last night.

FOUR ARMED miscreants barged into house of a Bedia family and robbed three women of their gold and silver ornaments in Sadakpura under Kotwali police station in Morena last night. According to police, the women were sleeping when unidentified masked miscreants entered the house from behind by jumping over the wall and relieved them of gold and silver ornaments.

They also snatched cash in thousands from women, who were newly married, police added. CSP SS Chahal suspected that the robbers probably knew the women. Police registered a case and arrested three persons on suspicion in this connection. Agencies

Trucks seized for evading tax

UNDER A special drive to check tax evasion, the Commercial Tax Department seized 33 trucks loaded with goods in Chhindwara, Balaghat, Seoni and Pandhurna districts recently. Divisional Commissioner, Commercial Tax, AK Nayak today at a press conference informed that the truck drivers did not have requisite papers for transportation of goods. The trucks were loaded with iron, sugar, betel nut and other goods, he said. He said the actual cost of seized goods and evasion of tax were being assessed. Agencies

Three killed in accident

THREE PERSONS died and seven others seriously injured, when a truck carrying them, rammed into a bridge on Dewas-Ujjain route last night. According to police, the accident took place at around 1 am near Bangar village. Babu Devaji Jat (45), Rajaram Luhar (70) and Ramprakash Rajaram (35) travelling in the truck died while undergoing treatment in hospital. Moolchand, Lalu, Jitendra, Raju Darbar, Govind Mehtab and Dayaram were seriously injured in the accident. They were admitted to district hospital. Agencies

Six peacocks die

SIX PEACOCKS died over a week in Talaikheda village, about 10 km from here. "The reason is being ascertained and carcasses were dispatched to the State Animal Disease Investigation Laboratory," Deputy Director (Veterinary) A K Saksena said today.
