Sindhis meet in US to end Pak military rule

Members of the World Sindhi Institute have reportedly decided to hold their fifth annual conference in Washington in October with a focus on ways to end military rule in Pakistan.

Members of the World Sindhi Institute have reportedly decided to hold their fifth annual conference in Washington in October with a focus on ways to end military rule in Pakistan.

According to the Daily Times, Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy of the Quaid-i-Azam University will be the keynote speaker at this year's conference, which will be based on the theme: Military rule in Pakistan, challenges to democracy, human rights, and peace in Sindh.

Rasul Bux Palijo, Sen Sana Baloch, well-known American author and journalist Selig Harrison, and Attiya Dawood and Aqil Shah will also address the moot.

Democratic Congressman Eni F H Faleomavaega, a member of the house committee on international affairs and Republican Congressman Tom Tancredo will be also attending the conference.

Tancredo will also be presented the Shah Sachal Sarmast award for his "ongoing and outright support for the human rights of the Sindhi people."
