Six CRPF jawans injured in landmine blast

Six CRPF jawans were injured today in a landmine blast suspected to be triggered by Naxalites near Gumdidih-Kundi village in Kanker district, about 250 km from here, police said.

Six CRPF jawans were injured today in a landmine blast suspected to be triggered by Naxalites near Gumdidih-Kundi village in Kanker district, about 250 km from here, police said.

The jawans from the 190 battalion, were injured when their vehicle fell into a crater that was created by a powerful landmine triggered by Naxalites few seconds before the vehicle reached the spot, police said.

The injured jawans have been identified as Prahalad Kumar, Subodh Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Rajendra Singh, Mahendra Yadav and Tassir Hassan of CRPF's 190th battalion.

All the injured jawans are out of danger, they said.

Three jawans have been airlifted to Raipur for treatment and as many have been shifted to Bhanupratappur, they said.

The CRPF jawans were returning from Pakhanjore to Raipur after completing their poll duty, police said.

Security agencies have started a massive search operation in the area.
