Six injured in police firing

SIX PERSONS sustained injuries when police opened fire on some people who were clashing with one another in Harriya bazaar police circle here on Friday. The police said that three jeeps, a truck and a government bus were set on fire by the mob during the violence. The mob used fire-arms in the incident.

The police said that three jeeps, a truck and a government bus were set on fire by the mob during the violence. The mob used fire-arms in the incident.

According to the police, the clash took place when some people were trying to construct a wall near a place of worship. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and tried to stop the construction. But the mob attacked the police, too.

District Magistrate SK Verma and Superintendent of police RP Chaturvedi were camping in Harriya town to maintain law an order. In the aftermath of the violence, the traders put up their shutters. However, the police said that the situation was under control. Ten persons were arrested in this connection.
