Six killed in road accident in Andhra Pradesh

Six persons, including three from Hyderabad, were killed when the car carrying them fell into a roadside canal in West Godavari district today, police said.

Six persons, including three from Hyderabad, were killed when the car carrying them fell into a roadside canal in West Godavari district on Sunday, police said.

The incident occurred at around 12.45am when the car-inmates were proceeding to Bhimavaram town after attending Sankranti celebrations at Vendra village in Palkoderu mandal, they said

Bodies of five persons including two children were traced from the canal and efforts were on to trace the body of a woman, the police added.

The car fell into the canal after its driver lost control of the vehicle due to overspeeding, a police office told PTI.

Three of the deceased were identified as Anjaneshwara Reddy, D Saraswati and Sai Abhinav from Habsiguda and Motinagar in Hyderabad, while the remaining three belonged to Bhimavaram, police said.
